Particulars Of Canadian War Vessels Building & Projected by Naval Service Headquarters (D. N. C. Dept.) 1943 – 1945: Merrickville [C.N. 879 and designated YTS-581]. Canadian Navy Ville (or Pup) class (YTL) tug. Edison Horton notes (Sept. 22, 2006): I was working at the Georgetown Shipyard when 3 of the Villes that were stationed in Halifax, were purchased by the yard, the names of the Villes that were based in Halifax were; Mannville, Listerville, Parksville and the Merrickville, we are led to believe that the Merrickville became the Ann Marie and was sunk in 1987. The Georgetown Shipyard kept one tug and sold the other two.
In 1944 she was built for the Royal Canadian Navy. She was employed as tug at Lunenburg NS. She became a CNAV/CFAV 1946-76. In 1976 she was sold. 1-135bhp diesel engine (1944).
